Egg freezing for trans men and non-binary people
For people contemplating or going through a gender transition, freezing eggs can give a greater chance of having a biological family in the future.

We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to know the joy of being a parent and realise the family of their dreams. Discover our inclusive fertility solutions for same sex couples and LGBTQ+ individuals.
There are many different paths to parenthood today, and however family looks for you, at Apricity we have fertility solutions to help you have a child. From preserving your fertility during transitioning, or finding your perfect egg donor for surrogacy to treatments for same-sex female and male couples, we have a range of fertility treatments for the LGBTQ+ community.
We are committed to inclusivity, providing fertility care for everyone regardless of race, sexual orientation or gender identity.
Our egg donation specialists have expertise in finding and matching egg donors for those who need a surrogate to have a baby. Donor eggs and surrogacy may be suitable for a solo transgender woman, a single cisgender man, and gay, cis and transgender couples.
If an individual or couple requires an egg donor, a healthy donor undergoes hormone treatments to stimulate egg production. The eggs are then retrieved and fertilised with sperm from one of the intended parents or a sperm donor. For some LGBTQIA+ couples, like gay men, this allows them to share a biological connection to the child.
Once the embryos are created, one or more are transferred into the womb of your chosen surrogate (a person who carries the pregnancy). This surrogate may be separate from the egg donor. There are two types of surrogacy: gestational or full surrogacy, where the surrogate has no genetic connection to the baby, and traditional or partial surrogacy, where the surrogate provides the egg and carries the pregnancy, though this is less common.
Our surrogacy egg donation packages give you the best possible chance of growing your family in the future with genetically related siblings, creating embryos using genetic material from both intended parents.
Our partnership withMy Surrogacy Journey supports intended parents throughout the surrogacy process.
Reciprocal IVF is a treatment option for lesbian or trans couples, who wish to share the biological and emotional experience of bringing a child into the world. It allows both partners to be actively involved in the conception process, with one partner providing the egg and the other carrying the pregnancy.
One partner undergoes hormone treatments to stimulate their ovaries and produce multiple eggs. These eggs are then retrieved in a minor procedure. This partner will be the biological parent. The retrieved eggs are then fertilised with donor sperm. One or more of the resulting embryos are implanted into the other partner, who carries the pregnancy and is the birthing parent.
For single individuals who can carry a baby, including transgender men who haven't medically transitioned and single cisgender women, solo parenthood offers a route to have a baby on your own.
If you have no fertility issues, IUI using donor sperm is a successful treatment option. If you have an infertility diagnosis, IVF with donor sperm may be more suitable. Surrogacy also offers a path to solo parenthood for single men as they can use their sperm to fertilise donor eggs.
We know that undergoing fertility treatment can be hugely stressful, and as a solo intended parent, this can be even more so. Our Care Team is here for solo parents at every step, providing guidance and support.
We offer a range of fertility preservation services for those preparing for or undergoing transition. This includes egg freezing, sperm freezing and embryo freezing to use in later frozen embryo transfers.
These fertility preservation options have become increasingly important for LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples who want the flexibility to have biological children later in life.
Egg freezing allows individuals to preserve their eggs for future use. This can be especially important for transgender men who plan to undergo hormone therapy or surgery that may affect fertility, as well as for those who are not ready to start a family yet. The process involves stimulating the ovaries with hormones to produce multiple eggs, retrieving them, and freezing them for later use.
For gay, bisexual, or transgender individuals assigned male at birth, sperm freezing is a straightforward way to preserve fertility. This is often done before transitioning, medical treatments, or simply for future family planning. The sperm is collected, analysed, and then frozen in vials for long-term storage. It can later be used for IUI, IVF, or other fertility treatments.
Embryo freezing involves fertilising eggs with sperm to create embryos, which are then frozen for future use. It is a treatment option for transgender couples where both partners are preparing for medical and/or surgical transitions.
