IVF treatment

IVF is one of the most common fertility treatments. Speak with an advisor and we’ll figure out if private IVF treatment is right for you.

What’s IVF?

In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) is a medical procedure where eggs and sperm are combined in a lab dish. It is a fertility treatment for those who are having trouble conceiving due to issues such as poor sperm quality, endometriosis or low ovarian reserve, or for same sex couples and single women.

Successfully fertilised embryos are transferred back into the woman's uterus to grow in the womb, usually one at a time. They can also be frozen for future cycles in addition to any surplus embryos. This allows for frozen embryo transfer, a procedure whereby frozen embryos are thawed before being inserted into the uterus.

IVF treatment can use the patients’ own eggs and sperm, or can be carried out with donor eggs or donor sperm. Combining IVF with donor eggs can sometimes be more successful, particularly for those over 40 or who have previously been through multiple IVF cycles.

The IVF Process

The in vitro fertilization (IVF) process involves several steps, including:

1
Ovaries are stimulated

A course of fertility medication in order to produce multiple eggs and mature them ready for collection

2
Egg and sperm collection

A sperm sample is collected (or donor sperm is thawed) and a procedure takes place under sedation to collect the eggs from the ovaries

3
Eggs are fertilised
The sperm and eggs are fertilised in the lab
4
Embryos are cultured

Embryos are grown in the lab or 5-6 days or frozen for FET

5
Embryo transfer
The embryos are transferred into the uterus
6
You take a pregnancy test
Following two weeks after the embryo transfer event

IVF Success Rates

Almost 40% of the embryos transferred resulted in a birth for patients under 38 and using their own eggs. This is 32% higher than the national average.

For all patients using their own eggs, regardless of age, Apricity produced more babies born per embryo transferred by 26%.

Our success rates exceed the national average for all age groups for both own eggs and donor eggs. Find out more about our IVF success rates and how to understand the data.

FAQs

1. What’s included in the IVF cost?

At Apricity, our IVF packages are designed to be fully comprehensive. This means the price you see includes consultations, monitoring scans, blood tests, medications, egg collection, and the embryo transfer. We believe in transparent pricing with no hidden costs, so you know exactly what you’re paying for from the start.

2. Are medications included in the cost of treatment?

Yes, all required medications for your IVF cycle are included in our package pricing. We understand that medication costs can sometimes be unpredictable, which is why we ensure they’re covered in our all-inclusive pricing model.

3. Will I need additional treatments, and how much do they cost?

Depending on your fertility needs, additional treatments like intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), embryo freezing, or pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT) may be recommended. These add-ons are discussed during your consultation and will be clearly outlined in your treatment plan, so you won’t be caught off guard by extra charges.

4. Do you offer payment plans for IVF treatment?

Yes, we offer flexible financing options to make IVF more affordable. With our payment plans, you can spread the cost of your treatment over time, making it easier to manage financially. We’ll work with you to find the best plan to suit your budget.

5. Are there any hidden fees I should be aware of?

Absolutely not. At Apricity, we pride ourselves on transparency. Our all-inclusive packages ensure that you won’t face unexpected charges later in your treatment. Unlike some clinics where costs for essential services or medications may not be clear upfront, we make sure you know exactly what’s covered from day one.

6. Is IVF hard on the body?

IVF can be a challenging process, both mentally and physically. However you are not alone. There are plenty of resources, support groups and expert help to guide you through treatment. Our packages include access to a fertility advisor throughout the week who can answer any questions and offer advice

7. What is the age limit for IVF treatment?

There is no official age limit for IVF treatment. In the UK, the NHS will provide one cycle to those aged 40 to 42, however we support those of all ages at Apricity. There are also other options including

which are often more successful for women over 40.

8. Can you choose gender with IVF?

Choosing the genetic sex of an embryo is possible during IVF. This requires testing before implantation into the womb. However this is only allowed in the UK for extreme medical reasons such as gender based genetic diseases.
